Event Technician

About the Team:
Everyman Driving is the UK and Europe’s No.1 Driving Experience supplier with the latest Range of 300+ meticulously maintained vehicles. Everyman Driving is the largest supplier of driving experiences and events, currently supplying over 200,000 drives per year. We operate from our own facility at the site of the Prestwold Driving Centre which is based in Leicestershire at our purpose-built race circuit. We also operate from many other prestigious race circuits in the U.K such as Goodwood, Brands Hatch, Lydden Hill, Mallory Park and many more locations.
The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with an interest in Motorsport & Multi-Media, to join the UK’s leading Driving Experience company, with over 200 supercars, including manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi, McLaren, and Aston Martin.
The primary responsibility of the Event Technician is to manage the support rigs for our visits to race circuits across the UK. This will include circuits such as Brands Hatch, Castle Combe & Oulton Park to name but a few. Each rig consists of three Windows 10 Pro laptops, a Windows 10 Pro Photo Server, on-site Dye-sub printing, a Wi-Fi network and a point-of-sale system.
Upon attending the event you will be responsible for the setup of all equipment and ensure it is working perfectly and be the first point of contact for all support queries about the rig and In-Car video equipment during the event. You would be required to be adaptable and to think quickly on your feet to ensure any issues are resolved swiftly. Post-event you would be responsible for packing down the equipment and its safe return.
The secondary responsibility is to make sure that each of the rigs have enough peripheral supplies, place orders for consumables as required, keep track of stock levels of such items and keep your area clean and tidy.
The job will be predominantly 08:30-17:30 Monday to Friday based at our head office (Prestwold), but between March and October, you would be required to attend events a minimum of 2 out of 4 weekends across the UK. On away events, transport and overnight accommodation will be provided. All weekend work will be paid in addition to the salary. We can provide plenty of weekend work to bump up your basic salary to a very good living standard if required.
Requirements:
- Great communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills with a ‘can-do attitude
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Strong attention to detail with an articulate and methodical approach to solving
- Ability to work on your own
- Full UK Driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Some of the skills you will need are:
- Basic understanding of Windows 10
- A basic understanding of networks (TCP/IP, WAN, LAN)
- Basic knowledge of Wi-Fi connectivity
- Good troubleshooting skills and thinking logically under pressure
